Firmly convinced of the power of a smile, Gustav Ehrenreich created the joyful Hoptimist movement in the late 60s. The aim was to design a figurine that would constantly remind us of the importance of staying positive and optimistic. For, while the 60s are often called "the happy 60s," this decade was marked by disruptive events. That’s why the joy brought by Ehrenreich's design was welcome during a rather turbulent time. Bimble and Bumble are the very first Hoptimists created by the designer: a girl in a dress with smiling eyes and a thoughtful boy with a stick on his head. Today, the joyful Hoptimists are part of Danish design history and spread joy around the world. The figurines are available in four different sizes and in a wide range of colours that spread optimism, good cheer, and happiness. There’s a Hoptimist for every occasion and every person.
