With this cheerful face, we spread good vibes and a positive atmosphere - just like the unstoppable jump of the Hoptimist spreads smiles from one person to another. Firmly convinced of the power of a smile, Gustav Ehrenreich created the joyful Hoptimist movement in the late 1960s. The goal was to design a figurine that would constantly remind us of the importance of staying positive and optimistic. Because, although the 60s are often called "the happy 60s," this decade was marked by disturbing events. That's why the joy spread by Ehrenreich's design was much needed during a rather turbulent time.
