Firmly believing in the power of a smile, Gustav Ehrenreich created the cheerful Hoptimist movement in the late 60s. The goal was to design a figurine that would constantly remind us of the importance of staying positive and optimistic. Because, although the 60s are often referred to as "the happy 60s", this decade was marked by troubling events. That's why the joy spread by Ehrenreich's design was welcomed during such a turbulent time. Bimble and Bumble were the very first Hoptimists created by the designer: A girl dressed in a dress with smiling eyes and a careful boy with a stick on his head. Today, the cheerful Hoptimists are part of Danish design history and spread joy around the world.
