Its inventor, Alan Adler, incorporated knowledge from his research and teaching at Stanford, Princeton and NASA during its development. The focus was on accuracy, stability and aerodynamics. Even with reduced effort, the "Aerobie" rings fly great distances and land accurately due to their minimal air resistance. The rounded and soft edges make it easier to grip.
