The aim: to match tiles of identical shape or color.

But while the rules are simple, victory requires tactical daring and a well-developed strategy.

The rules explained in 30 seconds

- The aim: to create lines of tiles of the same shape or color (for example, a line of yellow tiles or a line of square tiles).

- Each player begins by drawing 6 tiles at random.

- You can play as many tiles as you like in a row (1, 2 or even 6 tiles at a time).

- As many tiles as necessary are then re-drawn, so that there are always 6 tiles.

- For each move, the player scores as many points as there are tiles in the line (for example, if I play the 3rd and 4th tiles in a line, I score 4 points).

- Completing a line of six tiles scores 6 points plus an additional bonus of 6 points (i.e. 12 points!).

- When a tile completes two lines (one horizontal and one vertical), points are scored in both directions.

- The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Qwirkle consists of 108 wooden tiles with 6 shapes in 6 different colors. Each player tries to score as many points as possible by forming lines of tiles with a color or shape in common.
