Maiko is a memory game for 2 to 4 players aged 9 and over, set in Japan during the Meji era (1867-1912).
A maiko is a geisha apprentice whose goal is to become a woman who excels in traditional Japanese arts such as dance, music, and the art of wearing the kimono. For this, she stays in an okiya, a geisha house where she receives her training.
In Maiko, you play as a maiko and use your memory to find objects scattered around the okiya. These objects represent the ancestral arts of geishas whose secrets you will learn.
When you reveal a matching pair of objects, it means you have learned one of the nine arts of the geishas! Having tiles of your colour will allow you to score points. Conversely, having tiles of a different colour will cause you to lose points.
Indeed, Maiko is a memory game, but also a game of elegance! During your training, you can earn kamon tokens, symbols of prestige, which will allow you to seek the help of four teachers. Each teacher has a unique talent that will lead you to victory. The player with the most points will begin her career as a geisha!
