Introducing a classic from the East:
During the Tang dynasty in Central Asia, the Buddhist monk Sanzang is sent to retrieve sacred writings from the western regions. For his protection, he is accompanied by a group of demonic warriors who have been punished by the celestial court and now have the chance to redeem themselves. Among them are Sun Wukong, the famous Monkey King, Zhu Bajie, the gluttonous pig demon, and Sha Wujing, the gentle ogre. Throughout their 14-year journey, they traverse treacherous mountains and mystical realms where they battle demons, witches, and wild animals. And when there's nothing else to do, they have plenty of opportunities to bicker among themselves.
Zhu Bajie:
Formerly the marshal of the celestial guard, Zhu Bajie was punished for his drunken behavior and became a pig demon. Zhu is best known for his laziness and his voracious appetite for food and drink. But he also has a generous heart and is a loyal and fearless companion. Armed with an iron rake and the ability to surf on clouds (though not as quickly as Sun Wukong), he is the second strongest member of the team. After his redemption, he remains a pig and is appointed as the altar cleaner, where he feasts on leftovers.
